"We must tackle challenges facing Ashanti Region residents "- Otumfuo to Prez.Akufo Addo.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has asked President Nana Akufo-Addo to do all he can to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians, especially those residing in the Ashanti Region.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu said the President can leave behind a legacy if Ghanaians see an improvement in their lives.
The Asantehene was speaking at a state dinner held in his honour to mark 20 years on the throne as Asantehene.
“You walk alone this path and you are struck by the picture of an old lady in the twilight of her years in decline of seeming neglect and a picture of despair. Sadly this picture is not exclusive but a reflection of the challenges confronting the people in the Ashanti Region.”
“Mr. President this is a challenge we must face together. A challenge we must overcome. We cannot build a new Jerusalem in the time we have under your mandate but we can certainly make a difference, a huge difference and we cannot fail.”
The Otumfuo’s call might just be a reminder of the President’s own promise to transform the lives of Ghanaians.
President Nana Akufo-Addo has on several occasions promised to improve living conditions of Ghanaians through government policies and programmes.
This, he said, will help put Ghana on the path of progress and prosperity.
The President said the vision of a progressive, prosperous Ghana envisioned by the nation’s founding fathers must be realized in our generation.
The implementation of policies such as Free SHS, 1-District-1-Factory, programme for Planting for Food and Jobs, 1-Village-1-Dam, together with the revival of the National Health Insurance Scheme, he said, had been made possible because of the stability of the economy.

Akonnor rejected an offer to head the club’s technical directorate and left his post under bitter circumstances. The gaffer had been in charge for a close to a year having had stints with Kotoko sworn rivals Hearts of Oak and regional rivals Ashantigold. He had also coached D...
