Keta, Ketu South and the Anloga Municipalities/Districts to write Third Term Examinations on chalkboards.




Basic Schools in the Keta, Ketu South and the Anloga Municipalities/Districts shall write their Third Term Examinations on chalkboards.
This is a directive from the Municipal Director of Education after headteachers allegedly betrayed the municipality by charging higher examination fees last term.
This information was contained in a letter sighted by EducationGhana.net dated June 28, 2019, to the Municipal Chief Executives of Keta, Ketu South and the Anloga District by the Keta Municipal Education Director, Mr Michael Yao Tsuikorpe.
According to the Municipal Director of Education, he told headteachers to collect GHC7, GHC 8 and Ghc9 from the pupils as exam fees for lower primary, upper and the JHS respectively during the second term examination; however, some headteachers allegedly added certain levies such as PTA levies, to the specified fees.
Meanwhile, no money has been sent to the directorate since April 2019.
The Director further indicated that he has been continuously reported to his superiors by parents.
 Mr Michael Yao Tsuikorpe said the headteachers do go on radio stations alleging he has taken monies from them illegally.
He, however, called for the support of philanthropists or the Assembly to deal with the lack of funds.
He informed the MCEs that the only option was for the headteachers to direct teachers to write the exam questions on the board for the pupils to answer.

Also, he indicated he wanted a response from the Municipal and District Chief Executives from the aforementioned Municipal and District Assemblies by Wednesday, July 3 before he sends his alternate orders to the headteachers.
