Four rooms on a block at army officers mess at 37 in Accra have been gutted by fire.
The Ghana National Fire Service says investigations are underway to ascertain what caused the fire incident which occurred on Saturday.
In an interview with Citi News, the Head of Public Relations for the Service, D.O. Ellis Robinson Okoe, said although a good amount of personal belongings were lost to the inferno, no casualties were recorded.
“Three of the rooms and its contents had been totally burned and one was left however there were no casualties… most of the things that got burned were personal belongings.”
“Our men are on the ground investigating the scene and making all their assessments,” he added.
Other residents on the block affected by the fire have been asked to evacuate the block.
When Citi News visited the scene of the fire, other residents were seen departing the mess.
